He came to life with his ever brimming smile; they say men are taken by a woman’s smile … I feel any human can be taken by any fulfilling smile. I’m reminded of a little munchkin Pedro, a fatty little baby; his mewling, his smile, his big button eyes could have evolved anyone’s day into a happy day. We, adults, evolve daily, but slowly, unlike the gregarious babies. Babies evolve daily; they have this inner spark of smiling their way ahead in life which we adults forget. We get into outer help or self-help intently, but they have something new daily, to grow, to evolve even in their so-called dependency.

Now imagine a curfew for an elderly person with Alzheimer’s and don’t forget their care-giver. He was giddy throughout the morning. Not understanding the mechanics of a curfew at all, he insisted on going out to the market. His wife, who has permanently lost her temper with him, chided him. But after a while, he spoke up again. Only to be chided. Chirps and chides replaced traffic sounds today.
